Nibandh is a Hindi magazine without paper. A collection of original journalism, analysis and opinion. Members of our team also post link-intensive musings, ramblings and other assorted writings. We also invite guest columns and contributors to write on diverse topics.
Without worrying about being “secular” or “communal”, our combined aim is to engage, motivate, or stimulate interaction of ideas and thoughts across gender, generational, and ethnic lines.
It’s difficult to produce an honest news story when you lie to do it. Nibandh is about the need for a real independent media which is free not only from the clutches of the State but also from profit and commercial considerations. Our reporting will contain little or no “spin” and can be seen as more trustworthy. Our authors often seek to inspire advocacy or citizen action. The power of internet is that writers not only reach out to one another, but this venue can also serve as its own form of activism, a tool to spur action on issues that matter most to the writers and to you. We are one of the believers who think that the phenomena of democratic participation will change the face of media creation, distribution and consumption.
As an alternative media source we vouch to provide you with a different (mostly dissident) viewpoint than that provided by major mainstream and corporate funded newspapers, magazines, TV, and other media sources.
